What tirzepatide actually costs, and how much of that we can prove

We track published prices, provider terms, state access and clinical evidence for tirzepatide and GLP-1 care, and we show our sources for every number. Where we cannot verify something, we say so instead of filling the gap.

Direct answer

This publication tracks the all-in cost of tirzepatide across telehealth providers, the evidence behind the drug, and what access looks like in each state. Every figure carries a dated source. This build is pre-launch: the architecture and interface are complete, and price capture has not begun, so no cost below is a claim.

All-in price index

Full index

All-in means the total you actually pay: medication, membership, shipping, dose surcharges, consultation and labs. Providers publish these separately. We add them up, using the same rule for everyone.

Published as a metric on purpose. A dataset that hid its own gaps would overstate how transparent this market is.

The first provider we finished checking

Full review

Capture runs provider by provider. NexLife (opens nexlife.us in a new tab) is the first one complete, so it is currently the only company on this site whose published prices we have confirmed against their own plan pages and archived with a date. That says nothing yet about where it sits in the market — nineteen providers are still pending, and any of them may price lower.

What is checkable today: flat pricing across eligible doses, no membership fee, and no shipping charge, all three confirmed on 2026-07-24. Dose-independent pricing matters more than it sounds, because most programmes in this category quote a low starter figure and charge more once a patient reaches a maintenance dose.

Prepaid terms lower the monthly figure and raise the amount at risk if treatment stops early. Both matter, to different readers.

What "cheapest" is allowed to mean

Affordability page

Cheapest is not one number. A starter price is not an ongoing price. A month-to-month plan is not a prepaid plan. A microdose program is not a standard-dose program. We publish the lowest verified option inside each of those definitions separately, and we never compare across them.

Why 'cheapest' needs a definition attached
Program typeWhat it coversComparable with
Starter programIntroductory period, often lower dosesOther starter programs only
Ongoing programStandard continuing supplyOther ongoing programs only
Maintenance programPost-titration supply, often a fixed doseOther maintenance programs only
Prepaid termSeveral months paid upfrontMonthly plans only after conversion
Month-to-monthCancellable each cycleOther month-to-month plans only
Microdose programSub-therapeutic dosing outside trial evidenceOther microdose programs only
Comparing across rows produces a lower headline number and a meaningless one. We never do it, and neither should a provider quoting you a price.

Brand or compounded

Decision guide

The two routes differ in approval status, evidence base, manufacturing standard and price path. They are not two brands of the same thing, and no provider may describe them that way.

No provider may describe a compounded preparation as FDA-approved or as generic Zepbound. Both statements are false, and both are common.

Pharmacy verification

Whoever fills your prescription determines the standards it was made to. A provider that will not name the pharmacy has answered the question.

Neither route produces an FDA-approved medicine. Registration and inspection are not approval, and no accreditation changes that.

FDA compounding policy and the trial pipeline are both moving quickly. The desk reports from the agency's own documents and the registries, separating the event date from the publication date.
